Pre-workshop poetry competition – conditions of entry

1 You must register for the workshop in order to enter this competition

2 Your poem must bear some relationship to the themes of the World Congress of Poets

3 One entry only which must be your original work and not have won a prize previously

4 Your poem must be in English or translated into English

5 The Poem must be typed and no longer than 50 lines.

6 Entries must be received by 20 August 2000

7 The author’s name (and translator’s name if applicable) must not appear on the poem.

8 The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result

9 the winning poet will receive a certificate on 7th October 2000.

10 A selection of the best entries will be published in an anthology to be launched at the Workshop -

Valuing Our World Poetic Heritage.
